Reading
一、章节分析(Readingsection)
(一)综述
本单元的阅读部分的话题是关于记忆。
从不同的角度介绍了记忆的类别,记忆的途径,以及如何提高记忆力的一些建议。
与我们的学习生活密切相关,能够引起学生切身的回忆和表达欲,因此,教师应充分利用学生的兴趣,将不同人物的事例与记忆的特点相结合,来进行引导。
本课的任务有两个:
1学生通过对课文的学习。
掌握一些核心词汇,例如:
connected,course,death,dramatic等
2通过学习课文,了解提高记忆力的方法,并学会用过去时态来描述自己记忆里的一次经历,为writing部分做准备。
(二)阅读目标
1知识目标
学习课文中重点词、词组、句型和语法。
2能力目标
通过阅读进一步了解记忆的类别,以及提高记忆力的一些有效的方法。
3情感目标
找到记忆深处的那些令我们难忘的瞬间,与大家分享。
(三)教学方法
采用经验分享型教学法组织教学,通过听说,讨论,竞赛等具体活动,达到教学效果。

●通过快速瞬间记忆测试将学生带入英语热身环节。
●鼓励学生说出自己最早的记忆是从什么时候开始,并描绘出印象最深刻的一次记忆

这是本课的重点部分.不同的人从不同的角度谈记忆,有的是Short-termmemory,有的是long-termmemory,有的是linkmethod,有的说起了有着超常几的人,最后一个说起记忆应该与直接经验与体会挂钩,才能更深入。
●通过headline以及skimming引导同学们找出每一节的中心梗概,并用自己的话概括出来。

●Scanning部分通过listening后的TrueorFalse练习,使学生熟悉文章,还通过(P83)中的Readandthink使学生加深巩固对于文章内容的了解以及把握部分词汇的使用。
这部分教师除了利用课本中所提供的素材和练习之外,建议老师还可以设计更多的一些问题,从一般疑问句和选择疑问句到特殊疑问句,难度层层加大。
而findthemeanings部分的练习可以穿插在课文整体阅读和理解之后进行,这可以立刻把讲练结合起来,更重要的是可以立即发现问题,及时对掌握不牢的知识点进行检验。
●接下来的环节是Furtherunderstandingofthetext。
学生在这一环节里,可以试图根据一些中心词汇,短语和句型,对文章进行简要的复述。
同时鼓励他们根据自己对记忆的理解进行续写,这个设计安排既可以回顾课文的主要内容,还可以看出学生的理解是否准确,很多头脑风暴的力量在这一刻出现;这样安排的另一目的是为下一课时language部分作准备。

Short-term
Someoftheinformationinsensorymemoryisthentransferredtoshort-termmemory.Short-termmemoryallowsonetorecallsomethingfromseveralsecondstoaslongasaminutewithoutrehearsal.Itscapacityisalsoverylimited:
GeorgeA.Miller,whenworkingatBellLaboratories,conductedexperimentsshowingthatthestoreofshorttermmemorywas7±2items(thetitleofhisfamouspaper,"Themagicalnumber7±2").Modernestimatesofthecapacityofshort-termmemoryarelower,typicallyontheorderof4-5items,andweknowthatmemorycapacitycanbeincreasedthroughaprocesscalledchunking.Forexample,ifpresentedwiththestring:

Short-termmemoryisbelievedtorelymostlyonanacousticcodeforstoringinformation,andtoalesserextentavisualcode.Conrad(1964)[1]foundthattestsubjectshadmoredifficultyrecallingcollectionsofwordsthatwereacousticallysimilar(e.g.dog,hog,fog,bog,log).
Long-term
Thestorageinsensorymemoryandshort-termmemorygenerallyhaveastrictlylimitedcapacityandduration,whichmeansthatinformationisavailableforacertainperiodoftime,butisnotretainedindefinitely.Bycontrast,long-termmemorycanstoremuchlargerquantitiesofinformationforpotentiallyunlimitedduration(sometimesawholelifespan).Forexample,givenarandomseven-digitnumber,wemayrememberitforonlyafewsecondsbeforeforgetting,suggestingitwasstoredinourshort-termmemory.Ontheotherhand,wecanremembertelephonenumbersformanyyearsthroughrepetition;thisinformationissaidtobestoredinlong-termmemor
