Abstract:
Sincethecarriedoutofreformandopeninguppolicynearly30years,China'sforeignlanguageeducationhasachievedremarkableachievement,butwiththespeedupofreformandopening-up,thereishigherrequirementtoforeignlanguagetalentsnotonlyinthenumber,butalsointheirqualityandthelevels,especiallyinforeignlanguageapplicationability.
Thepaperbeginswiththelearners--middleschoolstudents’psychologicalcharacters,analyzingtheirparticularageandlearningcharacterswhilebringingoutthetopicthatinordertosatisfythespecialgroup’sstudyneeds,howshouldtheEnglishteachers,asguidesofthosestudentsbegintochangetheirroleandthereforegivefullplaytoagoodguide.Asamatteroffactthattheteachingprocessofcurrentschoolsisstillassociatedwithtextbooks,closelyfollowedbythepapercomesthepointofteachingmaterials.Thispartshowstheprofoundinfluenceofteacher’schoiceofsuitabletextbooks.Itappearstobetruethateachstageofeducationhasitsforminganddevelopingprocess.Themiddleschoolteachingmethodisnoexception.
SothepaperalsodiscussesthepracticeofmiddleschoolEnglishteachingandthedevelopmentofteachingmethodologyandthreeaspectsarementionedtoelaboratethem;therealisticsignificanceoflearningEnglish,thepopularEnglishteachingmethodologyandtheultimategoalofChina'smiddleschoolEnglisheducation.Basedontheaboveoverviews,wecansaythattoourcountry'sEnglisheducation,opportunityandchallengegoeshandinhandduringtheeffort-makingprocess,andmorearduoustaskiswaitingforthemiddleschoolteacher’sindefatigablystruggle.

摘要:
改革开放近30年以来,我国的外语教育取得了令人瞩目的成就,但是随着改革开放步伐的加快,社会对外语人才的要求不仅在数量上日益增大,而且在质量、层次上都提出了更高的要求,尤其是对外语应用能力的要求更具体化了。
这篇论文首先从学习者——中学生的心理发展特点出发,分析了他们独有的年龄及学习特征,由此引出为适应这一特殊群体的学习要求,作为引导者的广大中学英语教师该如何转变角色,充分发挥好引导者的重要作用的话题。
由于教学过程的实现目前任然与相对应的教材紧密相联,论文紧随其后就以教材为中心,探讨了教师选择合适教材的方式和对教学效果的深远影响。
无论是哪个教育阶段都将拥有它的形成及发展历程,中学教学法也不例外。
因此论文也论述了目前我国的中学英语教学实践、教学法的发展状况,并且从学习英语的现实意义、当前广受欢迎的英语教学法和我国中学英语教育的最终目标三个角度来具体展开分析。
基于以上概述,我们不难发现对于我国的英语教育事业来说,机遇和挑战并存,还有更多艰巨的任务需要广大中学教师为之不懈奋斗。

Introduction
Thelast30yearshaswitnessedasteadyimprovementinELTinschools,however,ELTinmanyofChina’sschoolsisstillfarfrombeingsatisfactory,andunabletomeettheneedsofthepoliticalandeconomicdevelopmentofthecountry.ManyreportshaverevealedthatmostschoolleaversfoundithardtocommunicateeveninsimpleEnglishafterspending900hoursinclass.TheGrammarTranslationmethod,theout-of-datelanguagematerial,theshortageofqualifiedteachersandequipment,andtherigidwrittenexamshavehamperedtheeffectivenessofbothteachingandlearning.DuringthelastthreedecadestherehavebeensignificantdevelopmentsinthetheoryandpracticeofELTintheworld.Moreemphasishasbeenputontheuseofthelanguageforpurposefulcommunication.
Thepaperbeginswiththemaincharactersofmiddleschoolstudents.Firstly,inordertomakeEnglishaninterestingsubjecttolearn,teachersshouldtrytheirbesttoknowthestudents’innerworld,especiallythepsychologicaldevelopmentoftheyoungstudents.Teachers,ontheotherhand,alsohavetheirowndutyintermsofbothgivingeffectivein-classteachingactivitiesandchoosingsuitabletextbooks.ThefollowingpartdiscussesthetopicaboutthedevelopmentofsecondaryschoolEnglishteachingmethodology.TheelaboratingaspectsarearrangedfromthesignificanceoflearningEnglish,somepopularteachingmethodsandthegoalofsecondaryschoolEnglishteaching.
ThepaperisaimingatfindingoutsomeeffectiveEnglishteachingmethodstoprovidethemajorityofstudentsanequalaccesstoareallanguagecontextsothattheycangainconsiderablelanguageknowledgeaswellasculturaldifferences.Tosumup,thewholesociety,notonlyteachersshouldmakecommoneffortstoachievethesuccessinEnglisheducation.

1.1Themaincharactersofmiddleschoolstudents
1.1.1Students’interestiseasytobearoused
Themiddleschoolstudents,especiallythestudentsingradeone,arealwayslikeplayinggamesbynature.Theyseemcurioustolearnaboutthenewthingsaroundthem.Movingthings(video)andstrangethingsaremorelikelytohavetheirattention.Theyshowinterestsinthethingsthattheydidn’tseebefore.Stillattheirchildhood,theyonlyhaveaverylowcognitiontotheworld,whereastheirdesiretoknowmoreabouttheworldisstrong.It’seasiertomaketheminterestinitifteachercantakeadvantageofthat.Englishisusefultoday,wecanseeanduseitinmanyways.Soifteachercanthinkitoverandworkhardtomaketheirclasscheerful,thestudentswillsoonloveEnglishandwilllearnEnglishontheirowninitiative,notonlyunderteachersorder.
Teachingplanhastobedesignedfromchildren’sstandpoint.Wealwaysignorestudents’potentialbeforetheybegintolearnanotherlanguage.Infact,theyhaveownwaytolive.Theyhavealreadygotcertain,experienceoflife.Theyliketoknowotherthingsbytheirownway,sowhengradeonestudentsaretreatedlikeanemptybottle,teacherputtingalltheknowledgeintothebottledirectly,thentheremustbeabigproblem.Ifateacher’staskwasdesignedfromanadult’sstandpoint,childrenmaynotgetclosetothetaskandwillfeeluncomfortabletotheactivity.Ontheotherside,ifteachercoulddesignateachingplanfromchildren’spointofview,andcanreflectchildren’sworld,thenitmightbemuchacceptable.
Therearethreereasonsthatteachershavetoarousestudents’interest.Tohelpstudentsacquiremoreknowledge,ateachershouldarousetheirattentionandmakethembecomeinterestedinthissubject.Inrecentyears,moreandmoreexperimentsshowthatchildrenaredifferentfromadultsinEnglishlearning.Theyusedifferentpartsoftheirbrainwhentheyarelearningforeignlanguage,whichmightexplainthefactthatchildrencanlearnEnglishmucheasierthanadults.Andthechildren’sthinkingisdifferentfromadults.Asimplethingtoanadultmightbeverycomplextoachild,whereasacomplexthingtoaadultmightbeverynaturaltoachild.Soitwilltakeanadultteachermuchtimetolearnabouttheirstudentsanddesignasuitableteachingstrategytoarousethestudents’interest.
Interestisanaptnesstoknowsomethingoradesiretotakepartinsomeactivity.Itcanbecomeaninherentmotivation.Whydopeoplefeelinterestedinsomething?
Doctorshaveshowedusthereason:
interestisakindofpsychologicalmechanism.Itmaybeprovokedbytheoutsideworldsuchasstrangethingormysteriousthing.One'swillingnessorambitioncanalsostimulateit.Thestudyofpsychologiststellsusthatapersonwhoisinterestedinonething,hewillbefullofenthusiasminthisaspect,andkeepuphismindtolearnit,thenovercomeallthedifficultiestogettotheirgoal.Asweallknow,interestcangiveonepowertowin.Allthejobsaboutthewitdependoninterest,sodoEnglishteaching.InterestisthestrongestmotivationforcetolearnEnglishwell.Ifapersonhasnointerest,studywillbeakindofburdenforhim.Onthecontrary,ifheisinterested,hewilldiligentlyfindpleasureinit.Soarousingstudents’interestandpassionforEnglishstudybecomeahotissue.Notalltheteacherscangivetheclassavividlesson,onthecontrary,alotofteachersaretryingalltheirwaytomaketheirstudentslistentothem,butsometimesitdoesn'twork.SoI'dliketosaythattheremustbecertainwaystohavestudents’attention.Italsofollowssomeprincipals.
1.1.2Motivation
Nowadays,inordertokeeppacewiththerapiddevelopmentofourmodernsociety,toimprovestudents’abilityofspeakinghasbecomethemostessentialthing.Englishteachersplayamoreandmoreimportantleaderroleineducationarea.Theoldteachingmethodmaybeisnotsuitablefortheteachingsituationnowadays.It’stimetocreateamoresuitableEnglisheducationsystem.Inthepastteacherswerestandingontheplatformandkeepontalkingthroughoutthewholeclass.Theresultisthatstudentscannotgettheinformationeffectively.Onthecontrary,theywillfeelitboringtolearnEnglish.ThenewstandardEnglishpointsoutthatteachershouldletstudentslearnEnglishhappily,listenandspeakEnglishfreely,communicateinEnglishmoreoften…Sonow,it’snecessaryforteacherstochangetheirmindandfindsomeotherwaystomaketheirclassmorelively,andhelpthemfindinterestinEnglishlearning.
