1IMPORTANTINSTRUCTIONS
1.1Beforeplanningtodevelopthisproduct
Theshapeandspecificationsofthisproductdescribedinthismanualaresubjecttochangewithoutpriornoticebecauseofimprovementstotheproduct.Therefore,youmayberequestedtocontactourbusinesspersonnelofCITIZENSYSTEMSJAPANCO.,LTD.Formoreinformationonthisproduct.
1.2Forsafety
1)Precautionsagainstheatingwhenusingthermalhead
Thethermalheadheatsupduringprintingorimmediatelyafterprinting.Theexteriorcaseshouldbedesignedsothatitdoesnotallowtheusertotouchthethermalheaddirectly.Andtakemeasurestomeetthesituation;forexample,indicatethewarningsetcsotheusercanbecarefulnottotouchit.Also,designtheexteriorcaseconsideringtheradiatingofheatofthermalheadsothattheincreaseofheadtemperaturesisminimized.
2)Precautionswhencleaningthehead
Whentheheadiscleanedwiththeheadcleaningmechanismofthisprinter,indicatethewarningsetcthattheusershouldwaittocleantheheaduntilthethermalheadtemperaturesfallsfully.
3)Thermalheadabnormallyheating
Thethermalheadmayrunoutoforder(duetoCPUmalfunctionetc)becauseofthemechanismofprintingbygivingheattothethermalrecordingpaper.Heatingthethermalheadmaycauseburningorfireandyoumaygetburntifyoutouchtheheatedthermalhead.Toavoidthissituationbesuretoadoptanabnormalitydetectioncircuitintegralashardwarethatbreaksthecurrenttothethermalheadinabnormalsituations.
4)Precautionsagainstheatingwhenusingpaperfeedmotor
Apartofthepaperfeedmotorisexposedtotheframeoftheprinter.Thepaperfeedmotorheatsupduringprintingorimmediatelyafterprinting.Theexteriorcaseshouldbedesignedsothatitdoesnotallowtheusertotouchthepaperfeedmotordirectly.Andtakemeasurestomeetthesituation;forexample,indicatethewarningsetcsotheusercanbecarefulnottotouchit.Thepaperfeedmotorofthisprinterisnotequippedwiththetemperaturedetectionmechanismofathermistoretc.Thusdesigntheexteriorcaseconsideringtheradiatingofheatofpaperfeedmotorsothattheincreaseofpaperfeedmotortemperaturesisminimized.
5)Paperfeedmotorabnormallyheating
Thepaperfeedmotormayrunoutoforder(duetoCPUmalfunctionetc).Heatingthepaperfeedmotormaycauseburningorfireandyoumaygetburntifyoutouchtheheatedpaperfeedmotor.Toavoidthissituationbesuretoadoptanabnormalitydetectioncircuitintegralashardwarethatbreaksthecurrenttothepaperfeedmotorinabnormalsituations.
6)Precautionswhendesigningtheexteriorcasearoundthepaperfeedgear
Thepaperfeedgearisexposedsotheexteriorcaseshouldbedesignedsothatitdoesnotallowtheusertotouchthefeedgearresultingininjuriesetc.
1.3Designingprecautions
1)Forusingthermalhead,seeSection4.11ThermalHeadUsingPrecautions.
2)Fordesigningexteriorcase,seeSection12ExteriorCaseDesigningPrecautions
3)Topreventdamagetothethermalheadcausedbystaticelectricity,usethetapfortheearthtothethermalheadandconnecttheearthwiththeframeground.
4)MinimizethewiringresistanceasmuchaspossiblebetweenpowersourceandFFCterminalandmotorconnector.
5)Donotapplythecurrentwhentherecordingpaperisoutorwhentheheadisup.Doingsomayaffecttheprintqualityorbreakthethermalhead.Controltheprinterwiththepaperandhead-upsensors.
6)Donotallowstaticelectricitytoenterthesignalterminalsthatisbroughtbytransferringtherecordingpaper.
7)Connectbetweentheframegroundandthesignalgroundthroughtheresistanceofapprox.1M.
8)Designtheexteriorcasesothatitcanshutoutforeignmattersuchasdustandpaperchips.
1.4Handlingprecautions
1)Ifpaperotherthantherecommendedrecordingpaperisused,theprintquality,theprinter'slifeetcmaynotbeguaranteed.Also,thepaperwithinallowablerangeofpaperwidthshouldbeused.
2)DonotimposeshockontheheadPCBsurface(heatingelementsurface)(includingnoforeignmatterentering).
3)Topreventdamagetotheheatingelement,ICetccausedbystaticelectricity,takecarenottobechargedwithelectricityandbesuretoearththehumanbody.
4)Donotplacetheprinteronasurfacecoveredwithdirtanddust.Doingsowillaffecttheprinter'slife.
5)Useacottonswabdippedinethanol,methanolandIPAetcanddabitlightlytoremovebuilt-upsubstancesstucktotheheatingelementsurface.
6)Donottouchtheheadsurfacedirectlywiththehand,tweezersetc.
7)Havetheheadupduringtransportingorstoringforlongperiods.Leavingthethermalheadmakingcontactwiththeplatenmaycausedeformationoftheplatenandvariationofprintdensity.
8)Applyingthecurrenttothethermalheadwhiletheprinteriscondensingmaycauseabreakdown.Iftheprinteriscondensing,fullydryittoperformprinting.
9)Whenyouprintabarcode,theprintdirectionagainstthepaperfeeddirectionshouldbespecifiedasfollows.
