AfterreadingJaneEyre,IthinkJaneisaverygreatwoman.Sheisveryintelligent,honest,plain-featuredyounggirlforcedtocontendwithoppressioninequalityandhardship.Althoughshemeetswithaseriesofindividuals,whothreatenherautonomy,Janerepeatedlysucceedsatassertingherselfandmaintainsherprinciplesofjustice,humandignityandmorality.Shealsovaluesintellectualandemotionalfulfillment.HerstrongbeliefingenderandsocialequalitychallengetheVictorianprejudicesagainstwomenandthepoor.Iadmireherverymuch.Inmyopinion,sheisaprideofhumans.AndanothermaincharacterinthenovelisEdwardRochester.AsJane’semployerandthemasterofThornfield,Rochesterisawealthy,enthusiasticmanwithadarksecret.What’smoreheisveryunconventional,tointeractwithJanefranklyandirectly,hecanputasideeverythinghepossessed.
IthinkJaneEyreisanautobiographyofCharlottoBronte.Althoughthestoryismadeup,theheroineandpeople’slifeandtheenvironmentinthestoryweretakenfromthedetailsofrealpeoplearoundtheexperience.CharlotteBrontedescribedayounggirl’sstrugglinglifetoexpressherinnerthought:
everyoneisequalregardlessofhisorhergender.
Intheactualfact,JaneEyrewasn’tpretty,evenherselfknowsthat,andofcourse,theordinaryaooearancemakeothershavebadopiniononher.However,inmymind,aperson’sbeautyonthefacecanonlymakeothersfeelthatheorsheisattractiveorcharming.Ifhisorhermindisn’tthesamenobleastheappearance,beautyofthiskindcannotlastforalongtime,onlyaperson’sgreatvirtue,anoblesoul,abeautifulheartcanbecalledasaneverlastingbeauty.

Itseemstomethatmanyreaders’EnglishreadingexperiencestartswithJaneEyer.Iamofnoexception.Aswerefertothemovie“JaneEyer”,itisnotsurprisingtofindsome
differencesbecauseofitsbeingfilmizedandretoldinanewway,butthespiritofthenovelremains----tobeanindependentperson,bothphysicallyandmentally.
JaneEyerwasabornresister,whoseparentswentoffwhenshewasveryyoung,andheraunt,theonlyrelativeshehad,treatedherasbadlyasaragtag.SinceJane’seducationinLowwoodOrphanagebegan,shedidn’tgetwhatshehadbeenexpecting——simplybeingregardedasacommonperson,justthesameasanyothergirlaround.ThesuffersfrombeinghumiliatedanddevastatedteachJanetobeperseveringandprizedignityoveranythingelse.Asarewardofrevoltingtheruthlessoppression,JanegotachancetobeatutorinThornfieldGarden.ThereshemadetheacquaintanceoflovelyAdeleandthatgarden’sowner,
Rochester,amanwithwarmheartdespiteacoldfaceoutside.Janeexpectedtochangethelifefromthenon,butfatehaddecidedotherwise:
AfterJaneandRochesterfellinlovewitheachotherandgotdowntogetmarry,sheunfortunatelycametoknowinfactRochesterhadgotalegalwife,whoseemedtobetheshadowfollowingRochesterandledtohismoodinessallthetime----Rochesterwasalsoadespairingpersoninneedofsalvation.Janedidwanttogivehimahand,however,shemadeuphermindtoleave,becauseshedidn’twanttobetrayherownprinciples,becauseshewasJaneEyer.Thefilmhasfinallygotasymbolistend:
