ThisistheresultofanewstudybyDanaCarneyofBerkeley’sHaasSchoolofBusinessandMahzarinBanajiofHarvardUniversity.Totesttheirhypothesis,theresearchersconductedaseriesofexperiments.Inonevolunteerswereshownpicturesoftwoviolentcriminalsandthenaskedwhichonedeservedparole.Mostfeltmoremercifultowardsthefirstmugshottheywereshown(differentvolunteerssawdifferentvillainsfirst). 这是来自伯克利大学哈斯商学院的DanaCarney与哈佛大学MahzarinBanaji的最新研究结果。

Butnow,I’mgoingtoletyouinonalittlesecret:
Timidguysaren’tasnumerousasyoumaythink.Infact,thatcuteguywhoflirtswithyouandactsinterested,butneveractuallydoesanythingaboutit,canturnouttobeatotallydifferentbreedofguy.He’snottimid,orawkward,ornervous.He’smanipulatingyou.

It’syourfaultyoujumpedintobedtoosoon,becauseyouputthemovesonhim.Andnow,hegetstowalkawaywithnaryascratchonhisshinyarmor.
Iadmit,IdidallthissubconsciousrationalizingforyearsbeforeIrealizedwhatIwasactuallydoing.Oncemyconsciencemadethatshadybackroomdealwithmylust,myhypocrisybecamealltooeasytoignore.
Yup,allmylife,Ipridedmyselfonbeingadecentguy.But,itturnsoutIwasadouchebagallalong.Andunfortunately,Ithinkeveryguyhassomeamountofdouchinessinhim(if,by“douchiness,”wemeanthedesireforeasysex).
Here’sthebottomline:
IfIreallylikeagirl,I’mgoingtomakethefirstmove.
