IhaveanimportantfriendnamedTrey,whoisexactlytenyearsolderthanIam,yethelivesthechildlikelifeofonewhoismanyyearsyounger.WhenIwassix,hewaspartofmySundayschoolclass.Heseemedhugeandintimidatingatfirst,sittingcrammedintoasmallwoodenchair,butwebecamebestfriendsonthatfirstdayafterhebrokeacookieintwoandwithalargegrinhandedmethesmallerhalf.Ithoughtofhimasaprotector,aspecialfriend.Itdidn'tmatterthathewasmentallyhandicapped,forIsawhimasagrown-upwhounderstoodme.Asyearswentby,however,IbegantooutgrowTrey.IgrewupandTreyjustgrew.SometimesIwouldwatchhimandwonder:
