Therearetwogeneraltypesofplantsfoundintheocean,thosehavingrootsthatareattachedtotheoceanbottomandthosenothavingrootswhichsimplydriftaboutwiththewater.Themostabundantplantsintheoceanareknownasphytoplankton.Theseareusuallysingle-celled,minutefloatingplantsthatdriftthroughoutthesurfacewatersoftheocean.
