I.Introduction
Asweknow,formanyyearsEnglishteachinginChinaisalwaysinthetrendof“highinput,lowoutput”,thisisnotharmonious.Theresultisso-called“dummyEnglish”.Inmyopinion,thereasonisthatwecouldn’tarrangethelearninginscientificway.However,atpresent,therearemanyproblemsexistinginEnglishteaching.Oneofthebiggestproblemsisthatmanystudentsdon’tlikeEnglish.Thisisaseriousproblem.AsanEnglishteacher,themostimportantskillistomakestudentsenjoylearningEnglish.Therefore,ifEnglishteacherswanttoarousestudents’interestinEnglish,theyshouldprovidethegoodopportunity,createanactiveclassroomatmosphere,causestudents’interestandthedesireoflearningknowledge.Interestisthekey,therearemanyapproachestoarousestudents’interest.Now,letmesaysomethingabouttheeffectivelanguageteachingsystemindetail.
II.Thenecessityandimportanceofarousestudents’interestinEnglishteaching.
Englishisalanguage,unlikeothersubjects.TheaimofEnglisheducationistocommunicatewithothers.Andinthemoderntime,theQuality-orientedEducationisputtedintopractice.Ontheotherhand,manystudentsdon’tlikelearningEnglish.Theythinkitisveryboringandhatememorizinglargevocabularies,sentencesanddifficultphrases,sotheylosetheinteresttoEnglishdayafterday.Inmypointofview,interestisthekey,interestcanmakeusenergeticandgiveusthepowerfuldrivetogainnewknowledge,includingEnglish.Ifonecanprofitbysomething,heorshewouldbeinterestedinthatthing.There’snodoubtthatstudyingEnglishisveryprofitable.Becauseitisnotonlyakindofforeignlanguage,butalsoakindoftooltolearnadvancedknowledge.Thestudents’interestinthestudyinghasaffectedthestudyresultdirectly,ifstudentslosetheinterestinEnglish,theycannotproducethemotiveofthestudy.Therefore,Englishteachersmusttrytheirbesttomakethewholeclassactiveandattractive,stirupstudents’studyingpotential,helpstudentschangetheconceptfrom“Makemelearn”to“Iwanttolearn”.ThisisthebeginningofsuccessintheEnglishteaching. III.Breakthroughthetraditionallanguageteachingmethodandformthenewteachingmethodbasedontheprincipleofscience,thismethodcanarousestudents’interestinEnglisheffectively.
1.Someproblemsexistinginthetraditionalteachingmethod.
Formanyyears,wehavefoundthatthetraditionalteachingmethodisdifficulttoenablestudentstocommunicatefreelyandexpresstheirideasclearly.MostofEnglishteachersfollowthetraditionalmethod,letmetakethe“dialogueteaching”forexample:
studentsreadthedialogueandnewwordsafterteacher;teacherletstudentsrecitethetextsandtranslateitintoChinese,orexplainedsomedifficultpoints.Asaresult,mostofstudentscannotmakethemselvesunderstoodandcommunicatefreelyinthedialogue.TraditionalwaysofteachingEnglisharedominatedinso-calledtextbookswithalotofgrammarandreadingmaterials.Themethodonlyputemphasisonreadingandlistening,neglectspeakingandwriting.
AsHarmersuggests:
“Oneskillcannotbeperformedwithoutanother.Itisimpossibletospeakinaconversationifyoudonotunderstandlistening,andpeopleseldomwritewithoutreading----eveniftheyonlyreadwhattheyhavejustwritten”.(Harmer,1991,52)

Wecanseefromabove,thefourbasicskillsshouldbetaughtinclusivelyratherthanseparately.Thisiswhythetraditionalteachingwayisnoteffectively.AsByrnesays,theintegratedskillsactivitiesareveryimportant,forexample:
a)Teachersshouldprovidemuchmoreopportunitiesforstudentstoparticipateinactivitiesnaturally;
b)Pairandgroupworkactivitiescallforavarietyofskillssimultaneously,inordertoinvolveallthelearners;
c)Studentsseemtolearnbetterwhentheyengagedinactivities.(1991,130)
So,asanEnglishteacher,weshouldgetstudentsengagedinthecommunicativeactivitytofinishtheteachingtask,studentsareverygladtolearninthisway,thismustbeeffectiveteachingway.
2.Strengthenthetask-basedlanguageteaching,makestudentsunderstandtheimportanceoflearningEnglish.
Thepsychologyresearchshowingtheneed---motive---targetprocessisthemainfactorthatproducesapersons’initiativebehavior.Ifapersonhastheneed,thenhecansetupthemotive,andhasthemotivethencanestablishthetarget.Therefore,apersonhastobeawareofthetarget,thisstudybehaviorcanbecomeakindofbeneficiallearningmotive.Intheteachingprocess,teachersshouldpaymoreattentiontostressingtheimportanceoflearningEnglish,letstudentsunderstandthatEnglishisoneofthemostextensivelanguagesintheworld,Englishisalanguagethatcanbroadentheirhorizonandhelpthemplayaleadingroleintheinternationalcommunityaswellasinthecountry. 3.Toadvocatesthedialoguetypeteachingtocultivatestudents’comprehensiveabilityinlanguageusage.
3.1Thedialoguetypeteachingputsanemphasisonstudents’independenceandfreedevelopment.
Thedialoguetypeteachingpayattentiontotheinteractionbetweenteachersandstudents,studentsandstudents.Itlargelyimprovesstudents’thinking,theynolongeracceptthelanguageknowledgepassively,butusethelanguageactively.Thedialoguetypeteachingmatchesthementalprocessoflearninglanguage,itcanarousethestudents’insidemotiveandstudyinterests,createtheequalandmutualteachingatmosphere,providestudents’demonstrationopportunitiestoshowtheirstage.Theinterestisthemostrealistic,themostactiveandthemostimportantpartinthelearningmotive.IfstudentsareinterestedinEnglish,thentheinterestcanimprovetheirstudyingenthusiasm,thustheycanlearnEnglishwell.
3.2Thedialoguetypeteachingprovidesgoodlanguageenvironmentforstudents.
Theequalrelationshipbetweenteachersandstudentsprovidesgoodlearningatmosphere.Intheharmoniousdemocracyatmosphere,studentscanusethelanguageknowledgetheyhavelearned,haveafreetalkandparticipateinthelanguagesceneactively.Theyarenotafraidofbeinglaughedatbytheclassmates.Therefore,thedialoguetypeteachingcanhelpthosestudentswhoaretimidandself-abasementparticularlyremovetheirmentalobstacleandstrengthentheirconfidence,letthemproducethismentalfeeling:

Englishisalanguage,thesocialcommunicativeoflanguagedecidesthatEnglishteachingrequiresstudentstoparticipateinclassactively,thedialoguetypeteachingprovidesastagethatteachersandstudentscanpracticeactualEnglish,andcultivatestudents’communicativecompetence.RichardsandRodgers(1986:

IV.Englishlanguageteachingshouldpayattentiontotheclassroominteractionanddevelopthedominantfunctionofstudents. 1.Strengthenthelanguagesocialintercoursefunctionintheteaching.
ThetargetofEnglishteachingisforthesocialintercourse.Englishteachingistocultivatestudents’comprehensiveabilityinlanguageusagethroughthesocialintercourseactivities.Intheactivitiesprocess,theemotionexchangebetweenteachersandstudentsisalsoaninteraction.TheprogressoflearningEnglishcannotbeseparatedfromtheteachers’teachingprinciple;theteachers’teachingprinciplealsocannotbeseparatedfromthestudyresult.Theaimofteachingistopromotecommunication.Inordertodevelopstudents’socialintercourseability,teachersshouldpaymoreattentiontotheusageofsocialintercoursestrategies,createthetrueintercourseatmosphere.
