由于有一支听命于他的乐队,维瓦尔迪大胆地进行试验和创新,他的协奏曲几乎囊括了当时所有的主流乐器的组合。
他的天才创作大大丰富了协奏曲的表现手法,其小提琴高把位的运用,也为日后的炫技技术的发展作了铺垫。
巴赫对他钦佩有加,维瓦尔迪清纯甜美的意大利风格对巴赫音乐风格的形成有不小的影响。
《四季》
正宗标题音乐
不仅照给定的十四行诗配上音乐,而且还运用了不少描写手法。
在维瓦尔第之前,还没有人以标题音乐的方式谱写过协奏曲。
《四季》的标题分别为:
《春》E大调、《夏》g小调、《秋》F大调、《冬》f小调。
其中以《春》的第一乐章(快板)最为著名,音乐展开轻快愉悦的旋律,使人联想到春天的葱绿;《夏》则出乎意料之外,表现出夏天的疲乏、恼人;《秋》描写的是收获季节中,农民们饮酒作乐、庆祝丰收的快活景象,第一乐章欢快活泼;《冬》描写人们走在冰上滑稽的姿态,以及由炉旁眺望窗外雨景等景象,其中第二乐章非常出名,曾被改编为轻音乐而广为流传。
大调给人欢快的感觉,而小调则有悲伤的基调,在音乐色泽上有明显的区别。
E大调:
一个基于E音的大调,由E、F♯、G♯、A、B、C♯、D♯和E组成,调号有四个升号
大调的曲子,其主旋律均以1、3、5的大和弦音符组合来开头和结尾。
〈欢乐颂〉,开头是33455432,结尾是1123211,头尾以1、3、5为主,那它也是大调曲。
又如国歌,开头是135565……,结尾是5151511,头尾也是1、3、5为主,,还是一首大调。
通常,大调是明朗的、有力度的。
像序曲、进行曲、颂歌之类的一般是大调。
《四季》
春:
表现的是“小鸟唱着欢乐之歌来迎春”。
独奏小提琴以一连串尖锐的颤音生动地模仿出群乌的啼鸣。
“微风轻拂清泉,泉水叮咚流淌”
夏:
如实地描绘出在夏季闷热而令人困倦的气候里孕育着的一场暴风雨,以及牧人为自已命运、为即将来临的暴风雨将对农作物造成的灾难担忧的心情。
秋:
村民们喜庆丰收的热闹场面:
“农夫们载歌载舞,喜庆丰收多高兴。
大伙儿举杯痛饮,以酣睡结束这场欢庆。
”乐章的基本主题单纯质朴,表现出快乐的农民的那种粗旷而朴实的激情
冬:
这部作品的第一乐章描绘冬天的难以抵御的严寒:
北风凛冽,白雪皑皑,冰天雪地,战栗不止,顿足奔跑路途艰,牙齿格格直打战。

管风琴是巴赫一生的主要创作工具,也是最能体现他演奏艺术的乐器了,巴赫生前作为一个管风琴演奏家的名气甚至远超过了他作为作曲家的声望。
