Abstract
Bydoingasurveyofcollegestudents'consumptionstructure,wegotthefollowingfindings.Price,qualityandfashionarethemainfactorstoattracttheconsumptionofthestudents.Practicalandrationalconsumptionarestillthemainconsumptionconceptofcurrentuniversitystudentsinourschool.Whentheybuysomething,priceandqualityarethefactorstobeconsideredfirst,becausetheirfinancialresourcesmainlycomefromtheirparentsorscholarshipisnotverymuch.Highlevelandfashionarealsomainfactorstobeconsideredbystudentswhethertobuythegoods.Nowthecollegestudentsnolongerliveamonotonelifefromdormtoclassroom,althoughthebookisstillthemainconsumptiongoods,itisnotthepreferredandnotonlyaconsumptionprojectanymore.Thepatternofconsumptionoftheuniversitystudentstendstoevidentdiversification,andthemobilephones,traveling,computers,andmediaentertainmentarethehotspotsoftheirconsumptions.

1Introduction
Chinaisexperiencingthedevelopmentofeconomy,politics,cultureandsociallife.Besides,withtheincreasingofinternationalcooperationamongthecompaniesandthecomingofforeignmedia,thepragmatismandhedonismofwesterncountrieshavegreatinfluencesonChinesepeople.Therefore,weneedtocallfornewconceptionofconsumption,establishhealthyconsumptionpatternandcreateoptimisticconsumptioncultureandimprovetheharmonybetweenpeopleandpeople,peopleandsociety,peopleandnature.
Contemporaryuniversitystudentisaspecialgroupofthesociety.Ontheonehand,theyareoneofthemajorgroupsofconsumption,andtheyhaveindependentrealizationandcharacteristicsofconsumption.Ontheotherhand,theyaretheleaderpowerofthemajorpowerandconsumptiontendencyoffutureChina.Thus,theirconsumptionsituation,attitudeandpatternwillhavevitaleffectsontheeconomydevelopmentandconsumptionculture.Inordertohaveabetterunderstandingoftheseissues,wedidasurveytohaveadeeplookintouniversitystudents’consumptionstructure.
2Body
2.1SurveyMethodology
It’squiteimportantforustoknowhowtoarrangeourmoneyinourschoollife.Andtoknowmoredetailedinformationaboutthewayuniversitystudentsspendtheirmoney,wedidasurveyinQingdaoUniversityfromNovember13,2012toNovember21,2012.Actually,thewayofthissurveywassamplingsurvey.Wedesignedaquestionnaireincluding13questions.Thenwesentthemto100studentsofdifferentmajorstocollectthedata.Inotherwords,100studentswerechosentotakepartinthesurvey.Thentheresultofthesurveywasrecordedbyfigures.Theanalysisofthesurveyresultswerelongitudinalstudyandcomparison.Ourresultsareinthefollowingfigures.
2.2ResultsandAnalysis
Afteraddingupandsummarizingthedatawegotfromthequestionnaires,wemadethefollowingfigures.

WecanseefromFigure1andFigure2thattotalconsumptionwasmainly500to999and1000to1500,amongwhichthereare50.8%ofuniversitystudentsspent500to999permonth,whileonly12.52%ofstudentsspent500,andfoodisinmajorityofstudentconsumption.Inotherwords,studentsspendmuchoftheirlivingexpensesonfood.Besides,somestudentsalsospendpartsoftheirlivingexpensesinclothing,communicationandnetwork,learningknowledge,commodityandsoon.However,itisreallysurprisingtofindthatstudentsdon’tspendmuchmoneyinlearningthings.

AswecanseefromFigure3,thereisadifferenceaboutuniversitystudents’consumptionbetweenmalesandfemales.Malestudentsspendmuchmoremoneyonfoodthanfemalestudents,whilefemalestudentspendmuchmoremoneyinclothingandcommodity.Femalespaymoreattentionstotheirappearance,fortheywanttobedifferentandunique.Incontrast,malespaymoreattentiontofood,thatistosay,maleseatmorethanfemales.Inaddition,theydon’tspendasmuchmoneyasfemalesinlearning,indicatingfemalesworkharderthanthem.

Mobilephonesandcomputers,asoneofthemostcommonlyusedmeansofcommunicationinmodernsociety,havebecomenecessariesofuniversitystudents.Moststudents,asisillustratedinFigure4,paidforcommunicationandnetworkpermonth.Asmallnumberofstudentspaidabove200yuan.Itisinterestingtofindthatfemales’feeishigherthanmales’between100and199.Becausetheyaremorelikelytobuysomethingincleanouttreasure,whichwilltakethemalotoftimetosuffertheInternet.

Asyoucansee,Figure5isacomparisonbetweenmaleandfemalestudents’dailyconsumption.It’ssurprisetofindthatbothmalestudentsandfemalestudentsdon’tspendmuchmoneyinlearning.Morethanhalfofthestudentsspendlessthan50yuaninlearning,andonlythirtypercentofthestudentsspent50-99yuaninstudy,thestudentswhospentmorethan150yuanarenoteasytofind.Inaddition,femalesworkharderthanmales,sotheyspendmoremoneyinlearningthanmales.

Loveisalwaysahottopicamonguniversitystudents.Someonesaidthatcampusisaparadiseofuniversitystudents,butaccordingtotheresultsofoursurvey,58%ofmenand63%ofwomenwerenotfallinlove.Soitcanbesaidthatmostofthestudentsarenotinlove.However,fromtheFigure6wecanseethatboysexpendmoreonlovethangirls.

Figure7tellsusthedifferencesofspendingonfoodbetweenmalesandfemales.Accordingtooursurvey,40%ofstudentspaid300-499yuanfortheirfood,and20%ofstudentsspentlessthan300yuanonfood,intheabovetwoitems,femalesspendmoremoneythanmales.However,whenitcomestothenexttwoitems,malespaymuchmoremoneyforfood,becausetheypaymoreattentiontothequalityofthefood.

Figure8isalsoacomparisonaboutclothing.Youwouldfindthatthefemalesspentmoremoneyinbuyingclothing,andthereasonmaybetheywanttobeattractiveandunique.Incontrast,morethanhalfofthemalestudentsspentlessthan70yuaninclothing.

Nowthecollegestudentsnolongerliveamonotonelifefromdormtoclassroom,atfirstsight,itseemsthattheydon’tspendmuchmoneyinelectronicproducts,butifweaddupallthemoneythattheyspendasemester,itissurprisingtofindthatitisreallyalotofmoney(seeFigure9).
3Conclusion
3.1Therationalconsumptionisthemainstream
Price,qualityandfashionarethemainfactorstoattracttheconsumptionofthestudents.Wecanseefromthesurveyresultsthatpracticalandrationalconsumptionarestillthemainconsumptionconceptofcurrentuniversitystudentsinourschool.Whentheybuysomething,priceandqualityarethefactorstobeconsideredfirst,becausetheirfinancialresourcesmainlycomefromtheirparentsorscholarshipisnotverymuch,sothedisposableincomeisfixingataparticularlevel,whichisabout500-1000yuan;however,someonewhosefamilyisrichcangetmorethan1000yuan,andthemoneyismainlyusedtopayforboardandbasicnecessities.Duetothelimitedconsumptionability,theyarecautiousaboutspendingmoney.Besides,therearemoresocialactivitiesthattheyhavetojointhanbefore,what’smore,somestudentsbegantofallinlove,sotheywon'tspendmoneyrecklesslyandwilltrytheirbesttospendmoneyworthily.
3.2Thepursuitoffashionandbrandisaninvariabletopic
Youthswithanagearoundtwentyarestillinmajorityoftheuniversitystudents.Theystandinfrontoftimesandpursuitfornewthings,soastofallinwithfashion,itisverycommonamongusstudents.Themostprominentconsumptionisusingmobilephonesandnetwork,inaddition,computerandrelatedconsumptionarealsotheirfavors,rangingfroma10yuancardtothecomputer,againthehairstyle,clothing,dailynecessities,inaword,theyareallpopularamonguniversitystudent.Thesurveyabovealsoconfirmsthisview.Highlevelandfashionarealsomainfactorstobeconsideredbystudentswhethertobuythegoods.Theabovewordsfullyreflecteduniversitystudents’needforahighqualityoflife.
3.3Thevariantpatternofconsumption
Nowthecollegestudentsnolongerliveamonotonelifefromdormtoclassroom,althoughthebookisstillthemainconsumptiongoods,itisnotthepreferredandnotonlyaconsumptionprojectanymore.Thepatternofconsumptionoftheuniversity
